The community and junior college system has expanded its distance education initiatives to include workforce training online.  In doing so, the system has partnered with Mindleaders to offer self-paced skills courses. This partnership opens the door to over 1,000 skills training courses in information technology, management, and other valuable areas at an affordable cost.  For a complete listing of courses, visit the Mindleaders course catalog.  Once you have identified a course of interest, contact your local workforce center for pricing information and to begin the registration process.

Mindleaders Program ---- Administrative Information

This section is designed to aid administrators in the workforce centers  in informing and registering participants for the Mindleaders program.  In order to facilitate this page, below you will find a series of questions and headings that will guide you through the process.

1) How can individuals take advantage of these programs?
Individuals, college employees, students, or companies may register for Mindleaders courses.  All registrations are done and fees collected through the workforce centers.  Employers may submit/request workforce projects based on Mindleaders training.  Reimburse for Mindleaders expenditures will be made only after individuals have successfully completed requested courses.

2) How does the Mindleaders program work?
The state has licensed all of the courses in the Mindleaders library, so any course is available to an individual.  Once registered, that individual has access to the library for a period of one year.  The Mindleaders software is an html delivery mechanism, and performs well even on home connections.  For information on how the course work, assessment, etc.  review the Mindleaders website, and the Mindleaders educational services pages designed for administrators.

3)  How can employers take advantage of these opportunities?
Employers may submit/request workforce projects based on any of the three tiers of online learning.  The SBCJC will reimburse for Mindleaders expenditures only after individuals have successfully completed requested courses.

4) What is the registration process?

  • Individuals may register for Mindleaders courses through any workforce center, by paying the appropriate fee, and indicating the courses they wish to take.

  • Authorized center personnel must then register the student by emailing the students name, numerical student id and courses requested to msvcc@sbcjc.cc.ms.us with the subject heading "Mindleaders Registration.

  • Registration confirmation will be sent within five working days of the registration request.

5) How do we monitor progress on Mindleaders courses?
The Mindleaders delivery system makes reports available for monitoring progress.  To obtain a report, email your request to msvcc@sbcjc.cc.ms.us indicating the student or group that you need a report for. Reports will be emailed back to you in a spreadsheet readable format.  Reports will be generated as timely as possible, but may take up to 5 working days.
